Congratulations Angel Cups!

I’m so proud of my friends Tari Harris and Sera Axtman, the talented ladies who run Angel Cups, my favorite cupcakery here in Fargo.

My all-time favorite Angel Cups flavor, Raspberry Surprise – it’s incredible.

Angel Cups was recently featured in The Daily Meal’s  Top 50 Cupcakes in America, beating out numerous “Cupcake Wars” champions, best selling cupcake book authors and Magnolia Bakery, the New York City sweet shop that took the cupcake craze nationwide with celebrity shout-outs in fashion magazines and a cameo on “Sex and the City.”

The Buttermilk Pancake Cupcake – maple buttercream frosting and cake dotted with crumbly bits of delicious bacon. The combination of salty and sweet is amazing.

This is major honor for two ladies from North Dakota. Sera and Tari bake all their product and staff their store themselves, stocking their shelves with delicious chocolate and vanilla buttercream cupcakes and a rotating variety of special flavors and seasonal varieties that changes daily.

The new Honey Pear Cupcake,  which ranks easily in in my Top 5. The flavors are delicate and not too sweet.

Special orders and special event catering is also available and they also serve a simple, filling soup and sandwich lunch – that also includes a cupcake, of course.

If you’re having trouble deciding on a cupcake flavor, you can save $1.50 when you buy a half dozen and $3 when you buy a dozen. This offer comes in handy, as Derrick and I are usually incapable of leaving with fewer than six cupcakes.

The Cookies and Cream Cupcake – like an Oreo cookie, but better.

So the next time you’re in the neighborhood, you should swing by and see what an award winning cupcake tastes like.

And you should definitely like them on Facebook here or follow them on Twitter so you can always have an updated list of that day’s flavors.

Special Holiday Flavor, The Sweet Potato Cupcake, complete with toasted marshmallows and a candied pecan.
