The Guest Post series continues with an update from one of my favorite local artists, designer Ashley Dedin.
I first met Ashley last June when her Gibson Girl undo caught my attention when we were both in line for the Taco Bros. Food Truck. She made it into that article (read it here) and her work has appeared in several other posts I’ve written since.
On the day of our first meeting, she had just started designing clothing and ties on a larger scale and her business, AENDEE, was still in its infancy, just like Prairie Style File. We talked about art, the local scene, what inspired us and the excitement (and terror) that come with taking your dream to the next level.
It’s now a year later and she’s taking several exciting steps, including showing her work as a featured artist in the Corks & Canvas Art and Wine Walk tonight from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. (read on for more details on where she’ll be) and opening her very own store later this summer — check back later this month for a sneak preview of her retail space.
I’m happy to have Ashley back on Prairie Style File to show you all the store she’ll be exhibiting in tonight. Everybody, meet Ashley!

I’ve walked the stretch of street between my apartment and studio hundreds of times over the past year and a half. It’s a quick stroll and I’m usually in a hurry. A few weeks ago while on track to hit the studio I found myself stopping dead in my tracks in front of 210 Broadway. In what seemed like the blink of an eye the space had been transformed into an eye catching boutique and oil shoppe.
Pinch & Pour / Fowlers Heritage Company is a dual retail space that brings a fresh new variety of products to the heart of downtown Fargo. The store is part clothing boutique (Fowlers) and part Pinch & Pour, a fine oil and balsamic dispensary.
Fowlers is a curated collection of clothing, accessories, and other awesome things all handpicked by the store’s owners. (“Fowler” is even a family name!) What really sets this shop apart is the attention to detail, it permeates every aspect of the store. From the space itself (check out these ridiculously delicious candles that make the whole shop smell fantastic), to the outrageously genuine customer service.
The shop offers both women and men’s clothing and accessories. Clothing ranges in price ($$ – $$$) and style so there is a little something for everyone.
In addition to the clothing (which is all top notch and gorgeous) Fowlers has done a fantastic job selecting really cool accessories/ brands to complement their aesthetic. One of my favorite finds was Happy Socks, available in both men and women’s styles. So colorful & fun!
A blog post seriously can’t do the store justice- so much of its magic is the atmosphere, which is something you have to experience firsthand. Stop by the shop during Corks & Canvas Thursday July 11th from 5-9pm and enjoy the space in person.
I will be representing my brand of handmade neckties & upcycled accessories: AENDEE as the store’s featured artist for the night so be sure to say hi and catch a glimpse of my creative process!
Monday – Saturday: 10:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
