Drink Local: Fargo Moorhead Spring Beer Tour

Happy National Beer Day! In the spirit of my all time favorite made-up holiday, I have two fantastic beer-related announcements for you today.

To celebrate, I’m offering my book, “North Dakota Beer: A Heady History” for just $20 and giving you free shipping from now through April 15. As always, I’ll sign each book and include a free sticker as well.

And now for the really exciting news! If you’ve read this book or my blog for any length of time, you know that I’m obsessed with local products and highlighting local makers. So I’m thrilled to announce that I’m partnering with Peter and Julia Schott (the founders of the International Potluck in the Red River Valley) to launch a series of Drink Local: Fargo-Moorhead tours in the region. These two love local products, new experiences and bringing people together as much as I do, so I know it’s going to be a blast.

Free tickets are available for our very first Drink Local Fargo-Moorhead: Spring Beer Tour, are available now. Please reserve by 5:00 p.m. on the tour day so we can get a head count.

On Thursday, May 10, you’ll meet the brewers and get behind-the-scenes tours at Flatland Brewery, Prairie Brothers Brewing Company and Kilstone Brewing. Your ticket also gets you discounted beer at each location, a free beer button, brewery tours and brewer Q&A sessions at each location. I’ll be on hand to provide a little beer trivia and a few scandalous stories from local beer drinking history along the way.

We’re planning to make these Drink Local: Fargo-Moorhead tours a regular thing. We’re working on a Fall Beer Tour to include the breweries that had conflicts this time around and we’re hoping to add tours to local distilleries, wineries and the meadery in Fargo as well. Let me know what you’d like to see and what kinds of experience you’d like to have so we can incorporate your suggestions into this and our next tours.

And please spread the word about the Drink Local Fargo-Moorhead: Spring Beer Tour! I’d love to see you and your friends on May 10.
