Holiday Party Dressing

Holiday Sparkle

I love the holiday party season. Whether you’re going to a candlelit dinner party or drinks and dancing with friends, it’s so fun to have an excuse to dress up.

Nothing makes special occasion dressing easier than an A-Line dress. The figure flattering shape works in a variety of necklines and sleeve lengths so you can highlight your best assets — a delicate collarbone, toned arms and, of course, great legs. (If you’re shy — or cold — just throw on some fun tights.)

Which look is your favorite?

Glam: Don’t be scared to rock sequins and platforms. Just make sure your jewelry is streamlined so both you and your dress can really shine. A nude lip and strong eye add the drama this look deserves without going overboard.

Modern: The little black dress gets a downtown make-over with a streamlined cut and waist-defining belt. Add edge with unexpected accessories like this zipper bracelet and black diamond earrings. A dark, matte manicure in plum, navy or charcoal gray looks fresh with classic black.

Romantic: Embrace your inner girlie girl with a sweetheart neckline and romantic shades of blush. Delicate jewelry and lush velvet heels in burgundy — this season’s it color — take the romance up a notch. Keep your hair and make-up soft.

Demure: The classic shape and comfortable flats ensure a ladylike look, but the peek-a-boo lace detail and lipstick red hue will turn heads while still preserving a little mystery. Sparkly earrings and a classic red lip complete the look.
