For Coach shoes and vintage dresses, head to Grafton, North Dakota.
Humble Grafton, a city of just over 4,200 souls, has one of the best shopping scenes in North Dakota, especially for a city of its size. There are lots of great locally owned shops, including my new favorite Luscious Boutique.
Owner Mary Kippen has somehow seen inside my brain and put all my weaknesses in one place.
She’s worked with local vendors to fill over 6,000 square feet of floor space in the former JC Penney building with a decidedly non-department store mix of antiques, accessories, gifts, make-up, home decor and new and vintage clothing.
Why don’t more shops stock old and new things side by side?
There’s a great selection of jewelry, purses, make-up and perfume.
Earthy girls will like the all-natural products from Tamera Rae Soaps & Lotions, a North Dakota based company.
I left with a funky heart and arrow pin and a new appreciation for a beautifully arranged store. I’ll definitely be back!
Grafton is a fun town for a day trip, with plenty of bars, restaurants and shops (and surprisingly good Mexican food!) so I’ll be posting more photos soon.
But if you’re serious about shopping, you should definitely check out Luscious Boutique for yourself!
