I wandered into this gorgeous, light-filled space and discovered one of my favorite boutiques in North Dakota. I always shop local when I travel (clothing is the best souvenir!) and I love it when a shop makes me want to be a regular customer after the very first visit.
Here’s a look inside Curious Clothing in downtown Grand Forks.
Curious Clothing is the second facet of the Curious brand. It’s owned by Brianne Osowski, the same woman who owns the Curious gift shop on 32nd Avenue South. If you haven’t shopped for gifts, art or housewares there yet, I definitely recommend it.
The clothing store features colorful, of-the-moment women’s fashion, shoes, jewelry and accessories at a mid-range price point.
Look for work-friendly basics and statement dresses that feature classic tailoring and romantic details. There’s also a fantastic selection of casual dresses and accessories that have some major boho flair.
I’m a sucker for color and pattern and I found lots to love at Curious Clothing. Seriously, check out my dressing room. And this was just round #1…
I loved all the caftans and maxi dresses, but the fit wasn’t quite right, so they went back on the rack.
But this gorgeous orange lace dress came home with me. It’s already been in heavy rotation for summer meetings and weddings and it’s going to look great with tights, boots and a leather jacket this fall.
Lots of dresses in the shop are similarly versatile, which is surprising since there’s not a basic dress in the bunch. It seems like every dress on the rack has a surprising tailoring detail, an eye-catching color or an intriguing pattern.
A tightly edited selection of wraps, tops, cardigans, skirts, pants and jackets adds some interesting layering and styling possibilities. The end result is a mix of funky and professional — which is pretty much what I’m aiming for, always.
The shop also stocks a well-edited selection of shoes, bags and pretty statement jewelry to complete your look. I’m always a big fan of stacked heels and platforms and there were lots in the store when I visited, although they’re transitioning to fall booties at the moment.
Curious Clothing sizes range from small to large. And if you can’t make it to Grand Forks, you can also shop online.
Have you shopped at Curious Clothing yet? What’s on your “must buy” list for fall?
