Street Style: Tough and Floaty Layers

If you’re ever struggling to put together an outfit, take a page from Hibah Samad’s book and think contrasts.

The Fargo-based KVRR news reporter is a mix master, rocking an outfit that combines hard and soft, black and white, tough and sweet.

I photograph people who’ve put together striking outfits for Street Style, even if I wouldn’t necessarily wear the look myself.

But when my friends and I ran into Hibah as we were making our traditional pilgrimage to Punchgut Studio on the 2013 Studio Crawl, I immediately coveted her outfit.

I love how she takes pieces from boutiques and some of my favorite high street stores and combines them with sentimental favorites.

And she’s not afraid to play around with layers. The skirt Hibah’s wearing is actually a dress, which is a great way to wear summer dresses into the fall.

The end result is a great mix of gritty and pretty.

And it looks pretty cool up against Puchgut’s art, don’t you think?
