Warhol at the Plains

I love Andy Warhol, so I couldn’t miss the opening of the first ever Warhol solo exhibition in the Fargo-Moorhead area.

The exhibit features 36 prints from the collection of Wesley and Missy Cochran.

The Myth series shows a range of iconic figures, from Santa Claus to Superman. Most of the images contain diamond dust, which makes the prints incredibly sparkly and vivid. They’re absolutely hypnotic.

No photography was allowed inside the galleries, which is fine because the photos I’ve seen online don’t even come close to capturing the brilliance you can see in person.

Warhol's Cowboys and Indians

The exhibit also features the Cowboys and Indians series.

All of the prints are showcased beautifully with bright pops of color and light in the gallery spaces. This might have been distracting for any other show, but it perfectly mirrors the color and energy of Warhol’s work.

If you’re a fan of pop art or pop culture, you’ll love this show.

What about you?
What would you include in a collection of iconic images?
How do you feel about Warhol?
