Calling all beer nerds!
You asked for it, so you got it! I’m (finally) giving you a chance to win my book, “North Dakota Beer: A Heady History” and a complete set of North Dakota beer buttons (shown at the bottom of the post) designed by super cool graphic designer and Fargo Brewing Company Ale House bartender Ali Belfiore.
This giveaway is open to anyone, anywhere. If you have a mailing address, you’re eligible to win.
This book explores the beer that the people in my part of the world were drinking (and where and why) from the moment soldiers arrived at the frontier forts until today, but you don’t even have to like beer or know anything about North Dakota to like the book. (Drinking stories are amusing and the people that founded this state could drink us all under the table, any day. Don’t ever let anybody try to tell you that history is boring.)
How do you win? It’s simple. Just comment below this post, like, comment or share this story on Facebook, reply, Tweet or Retweet on Twitter or comment or Regram on Instagram. Just make sure to tag me (you can check out my platforms at the bottom of this post) so I can see your entry.
The more actions you take (sharing, commenting etc.) the more times you are entered to win. The contest closes November 2 at midnight CST and a winner will be announced on social media.
I will sign and/or inscribe your book if you’d like me to. (It also makes a lovely gift for those beer nerds who have everything — hint, hint. You can buy it here, if you’re so inclined.)
If you’re in my neighborhood, I’ll be selling and signing this book at the NDSU Bookstore booth at Bison Tailgating on Saturday, October 28 and then heading over to the Prairie Homebrewing Companions’ big Halloween blow-out across town. (Some of the members actually appear in the book!)
You’ll find all the details about both events (and upcoming beer history talks, readings, book fairs and book signing events) here. If you’re at either of these events this weekend, please make sure to say hello.
What about you?
What’s your favorite beer style?
What’s your favorite North Dakota beer?
Who would you give this book to?
If you’ve already read this book, what did you like about it? What surprised you? (And also, thanks for reading!)
