Lot 2029 is now open in Fargo and I can tell you right now, it’s going to be addictive for me!
Owner, buyer and designer Hope Wald stocks a well edited selection of frothy dresses, fashion forward separates and edgy accessories at very reasonable prices.
So who is Lot 2029 trying to reach?
“People who are excited about fashion,” said Hope. “People are so excited to see something new come to Fargo, something not so mainstream so you can find those limited quantities and still have good prices.”
Seriously, aren’t these shoes fabulous?
I like how there’s a little toughness infused into such a demure shape.
And I love how these necklaces aren’t exactly as sweet as they seem at first glance…see what I mean?
So what does Hope think we’ll be wearing in Fargo-Moorhead this summer?
“Chevron print has been a huge seller for today and for spring in general,” she said, without missing a beat. “And mint — I cannot keep mint in stock. There’s been a huge demand for mint and coral.”
She added that, while both colors sold well last summer at the original Lot 2029 Bismarck location, their 2012 incarnations were more about neon, while 2013 is all about pastels.
At this point in our extremely impromptu interview, a blond in leopard print tights walked by clutching a pair of black shorts.
Before I could even ask about a summer silhouette, Hope was already reading my mind.
“High waisted shorts have been selling really well,” she said, as I watched a group of women examine a very cool sequined version.
“High waisted shorts and crop tops — it’s gonna be back to the ’80’s this summer!”
