After a few days of technical difficulties, Prairie Style File is back!
While my site was being fixed, I went to Minneapolis to catch a couple of Twins games and watch my (obviously insane) husband and friends run the Warrior Dash — a super muddy obstacle course – in 102 degree heat.
Traveling always makes me notice how people put themselves together with more clarity. Here are some of the summer looks that caught my eye on the street and in the shops.
H&M has a sweet tooth this season — lots of lace, pastels and florals.
I always schedule a semi-annual pilgrimage to H&M, where, true to form, I went in looking for a white layering tank and walked out with a bag full of looks to try, including a white lace shift and a mint green shirtdress that are much sweeter than my usual summer vibe. I guess the vintage looks I kept seeing in the bars and restaurants in the North Loop neighborhood near our hotel have made their way from the thrift stores to the mainstream.
A whole lot of neon at Ragstock, my go-to place for cheap new and recycled clothing since college.
Lots of layers and trendy high/low skirts at Urban Outfitters
I’m loving the vintage-y bird prints at Ragstock. I’ll be wearing the black dress on the left all summer long.
Which looks are your favorites? What are you wearing this summer?
